Why being clear matters

Dec 21, 2017

I made the video above so I won’t go into a whole lot of detail on this topic. I was leading or helping with some events recently and what was always striking to me was when we asked people ‘what had you be here’, now many would answer ‘oh, my friend brought me here’, or ‘I don’t really know’, or some kind of other disempowered answer.

When you are CLEAR, you insert your intention into everything. You don’t get dragged into events by a...

In search for approval

Nov 16, 2017

I wanted to write an article on how much we crave other people’s approval. I wrote the first draft of a blog post that i was really proud of. I was honest, vulnerable, sharing just how much I need and crave other’s people acknowledgment and approval.

I sent it to Sam, to see what he thought.

His response was ‘meh’.

‘What do you mean - meh?’

‘It’s interesting but it doesn’t really resonate with me’.

I need more money

Nov 14, 2017

OH THE TOPICS I put on this blog that’s supposed to be about food. It gets dirtier by the minute. Next thing you know we’ll be talking about sex and religion! Just kidding. Maybe. We’ll see. This week I’m taking on MONEY.

I watched my mom always struggle and ‘not enough money’ was always the conversation at home, while my dad was avoiding discussion about money altogether. Money in my family was the dirty topic and subject of a lot of shame and blame.

I had...

Confirmation bias

Nov 06, 2017

We are human beings. Which means, we want to be right about stuff. All the time. I’m right, you are wrong, the end. And we have a little voice, that makes something, or someone, wrong, all the time. That’s right, everyone’s got that voice.

If you are going ‘what voice is she talking about’? Yeah, that voice, the one that just said that. Think of that voice as a little trol that has something to say about you, or other people.

I had that troll sitting on my...

And why we need to stop resisting all the ways they are, and all the ways they are not.

My best friend’s name is Katerina and gees by Kaca {Kaa-cha}, and she lives in Prague. She’s got her s*@t together, she’s absolutely beautiful, accomplished, witty… and she’s never happy. I have watched her struggle through every single relationship, to the point that whenever she started dating someone new, I was already expecting a disaster.

Her downfall in relationships is...

Body Image, Women and Shame

Oct 08, 2017

By this time you are probably used to my blog posts are raw at times. I like making a difference with others through sharing my own journey and being as honest about it as I can.

I want to share with you some of my own journey of learning to accept and appreciate my body, and take responsibility for some of my old blog posts from 2012 when I did focus ‘looking good’ as the motivation and reason you should go paleo.

It’s not that long ago when i was obsessed with the way I...

GET YOUR LIFE out of your morning routine!

Oct 08, 2017

I just had one of those super amazing and spectacular mornings that set my entire day for success and decided I want to share about it.

I’ll preface this with what how my default goes and what I typically do left to my own designs:
I will go to bed later than I want to (like 1 or 2 hours later), wake up 2 hours later than I want to after hitting the snooze button 2 or 3 times, then check Facebook and email while I’m still in bed. Then I'll lie in bed for another 10 minutes...

On the topic of fear of rejection

Oct 08, 2017

The topic is fear of rejection. I started thinking about this only a couple days ago and I want to share with you what I have discovered.

Where does rejection come from

As an owner of a restaurant that features paleolithic diet,  I always like to look at things from an evolutionary standpoint.  Why does it make sense for us to want to belong, and fear being rejected by our peers and community?
Well it kind of makes sense, when you look at how our ancestors lived. If you lived in a...
