Dream a little dream

Uncategorized Sep 10, 2018

When I was a teenager, it was easy for me to daydream. In a small town, without cell phones, video games, or distractions, and with plenty of boring downtime, I spent long hours dreaming and visualizing my bright future. As an adult, I am busy, always chasing, jumping from task to task, getting things done. We don't allow enough space and time to dive into our imagination. We have Hulu and Netflix, Facebook, and constant email checking to fill our down time. We don't take time to daydream.

If you want to live a life of purpose, you must counteract this modern phenomenon. You must intentionally create a space for yourself to dream, visualize, and rehearse your future. You should let yourself daydream and get inspired. This type of visualization will allow you to zone out and create your dream. You will be mentally rehearsing your future and as you do, you will prime your thinking to notice opportunities that will help you create that future.

Creating your business or organization is no different from creating any other area of your life. Your organization is your creation, and where it first exists is in your thoughts.

As leaders of organizations, we must spend time consciously creating visions for our ideal businesses. Your business is a direct reflection of your thoughts and dreams and what you have visualized your business to be when it's done being made. As an executive coach for entrepreneurs, where I always start with my clients is with an ideal business dream sheet where they get to spend quality time working on what their ideal business will look like when it's done.

If your business is already established, notice that the way it is now is a direct reflection of your past visualization efforts. You dreamed, you imagined, and you created, and now you have a result.

When you’re ready to start bring your vision to life, join me for a free webinar on how to build a dream business which works for you (and not the other way around).
